What Is a Plummer Block Housing?

Plummer blocks (pillow blocks) are cast-iron or steel housings in which anti-friction bearings can run as well as, in most cases, they can be used to mount the bearing with either a cylindrical or a tapered bore. The housings keep the bearing from contamination while keeping in lubricant, and they can be used with L3 or T3 torques.
