Los rodamientos de bolas de contacto angular son lo suficientemente robustos para soportar fuertes cargas radiales y axiales, así como para operar a altas velocidades debido a la arquitectura interna del rodamiento. Como resultado de su fabricación, son asimétricos y solo son capaces de soportar fuerzas axiales unidireccionales. Los rodamientos angulares a menudo se instalan en un grupo de dos o más componentes precargados opuestos separados por espaciadores duros o elásticos.
