Las correas dentadas métricas también se conocen como correas dentadas de paso métrico. Estos están diseñados para usarse junto con poleas de sincronización del mismo tamaño y forma. En situaciones en las que mantener una relación de velocidad adecuada es fundamental para el funcionamiento eficaz de su sistema, se emplean estas correas. Si utiliza correas dentadas métricas, normalmente se utiliza una polea dentada para transmitir el par a la correa.

Las ranuras de la polea de distribución estaban espaciadas uniformemente y alineadas con los dientes de la correa de distribución. Están construidos con una variedad de materiales y refuerzos para garantizar que sean resistentes y duraderos. Además, tiene la opción de elegir la forma de diente trapezoidal o curvilínea de las opciones disponibles.

Una de las variedades más comunes de correas dentadas métricas es el modelo de doble cara, que tiene dientes en ambos lados, y la forma genuinamente infinita, que tiene un solo bucle cerrado. La variante abierta que viene en rollo es otra opción.
