Bevel Gears

An Overview of The Bevel Gears Online

The Bolton Engineering Products Ltd. bevel gear is a serrated rotating machine element that is used to transmit mechanical energy or shaft power between shafts that are colliding, either perpendicularly or at an angle. Because of this, the axis of rotation of the shaft power shifts somewhat in either direction. Aside from this purpose, bevel gears can also be used to raise or reduce the torque while exerting the opposite impact on angular speed.

In general, the bevel gears are divided into two main categories:

  •         Spiral bevel gear

Spiral bevel gears feature teeth fashioned in spirals. These gears are similar to cylindrical helical gears; however, the teeth of spiral gears are curved as well. Spiral bevel gears offer an advantage in terms of strength, oscillation, and noise level when compared to other bevel gears.

  •         Straight bevel gear

Straight bevel gears have teeth that are straight and parallel to the pitch cone. Straight bevel gears may be manufactured in lower diameters than spiral mitre gears. Straight bevel gears as tiny as module 0.5 in diverse materials have been standardized by our engineers.
