By simply pushing the Bolton Engineering Products Ltd Speedi Shaft sleeves over the worn area, a counterface surface optimized for use with radial shaft seals is created. As a result, there is no need for shaft disassembly or machining, which reduces the amount of time spent on downtime.
This saves time and money since it eliminates the need to hunt for multiple sizes of seals or keep a stock of several sizes on hand. Because the installation tool is included with the sleeve, there is no need for additional accessories. It just needs to use a mallet and a pair of pliers to complete the installation.
Characteristics
In addition, the new Speedi-Sleeve available at BEP Ltd uses a patented stainless steel material and manufacturing technique, resulting in reduced seal counterface wear. The unique substance enhances the sleeve's strength and flexibility. Invisible lubrication pockets allow lubricant to stay on the sleeve, preventing the dry running of the sealing edge.
The Speedi Shaft-Sleeve has a detachable flange. The flange is usually left intact, but it interferes with other system components. You need to remove it to avoid friction heat. The flange should also be removed to reduce lubrication delivery to the seal. Before installation, the flange should be cut from the outside diameter into the radius in one position. It can be twisted after installation and elevated using long-nose pliers into a coil.
