A gear rack is substantially the same as a spur gear, except that the approach is linear instead of helical. A gear rack is composed of teeth that are evenly spaced along a straight line. The gear rack's linear nature allows the pinion's rotational motion to be converted into linear motion since it is mounted at the top of the rack.

Rack designs include straight, helical, connected, and spherical racks, among others. Racks are available in a variety of steels, or we may custom make them to your specifications. Stainless steel toothed racks are also offered by our company. Racks and gears made of stainless steel are widely utilized because of their high strength-and-weight ratio, resistance to corrosion, and longevity.

Gear racks are sometimes linked to ball screws in that they are both mechanical elements that convert rotational motion into linear motion.
