Rigid Couplings

Rigid couplings are available in three configurations: one-piece, two-piece, and set screw. Each has its own set of characteristics and advantages that make it suitable for a distinct range of applications.

1.           One-piece rigid couplings

When compared to stiff couplings with set screws, these couplings offer a stronger holding power. It is necessary to disassemble the surrounding equipment in order to install it.

1.           Two-piece rigid couplings

When compared to other stiff couplings, these couplings offer the highest holding power. With the help of its two-part split construction, this connection may be installed and withdrawn with little disassembly of the surrounding equipment.

iii.            Set rigid screw couplings

The shaft is fastened into the coupling using a nut. Ideally, the shaft and coupler should be made of various materials so that they support each other.  It is necessary to disassemble the surrounding equipment in order to install it. Since this one is made of two pieces, it does not have as much holding force as a one-piece or two-piece rigid coupling would.
